Sega Pulls Back From Blockchain Gaming

Sega, one of the strongest advocates for GameFi and blockchain gaming, is withdrawing from the sector. Co-Chief Operating Officer Shuji Utsumi said that they will withhold their biggest franchises from third-party blockchain gaming projects in order to avoid devaluing their content. They are also shelving plans for developing their own blockchain-based games – at least for now. Utsumi was non-committal about using Web3 technology, saying that they are looking into whether this technology would take off in the industry.

Bitfinex Recovers More Stolen Assets

Bitfinex announced that it received $312,219.71 in cash and 6.917 BCH from the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). These amounts will be used to redeem Bitfinex-issued Recovery Right Tokens (RRTs), however due to there being 30 million RRTs currently in circulation, it won’t be enough to redeem them all. Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino said that they hope to recover as much stolen bitcoin as possible and redistribute it amongst holders of tokens issued after the 2016 hack.

BarnBridge DAO Members Told To Stop All Work

Douglas Park, a lawyer working with BarnBridge DAO posted on their Discord channel telling members to pause “all work” related to the project due to an investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He instructed existing liquidity pools should be closed, no new ones should be opened, and individuals should no longer receive compensation for any work done on related products until further notice.

Lightning Labs Releases Tools for Bitcoin Lightning & AI Devs

Lightning Labs released a set of developer tools designed specifically for Lightning Network developers working with artificial intelligence (AI). The tools are meant to provide an interface between Lightning Network applications and AI models while also making it easier for developers working with both technologies simultaneously build interoperable solutions faster then before.
